About This Category

Stainless Steel Pleated Filter Cartridges — Built for High-Flow Industrial Filtration

Pleated filter cartridges use a corrugated filter media geometry that increases effective filtration area by 3× compared to cylindrical wound filters. The result: higher flow rates, lower pressure drops, and longer service life between replacements.

Our pleated filters are manufactured from SS316L stainless steel with multi-layer support structure. Suitable for temperatures from -268°C to +371°C and compatible with a wide range of acids, solvents, hydrocarbons, and industrial chemicals. All units undergo passivation testing before shipping.

Pleated Filter Cartridge

Standard Pleated

Pleated Filter Cartridges

SS316L stainless steel construction. Reusable, high filtration area, pleated geometry reduces pressure drop at high flow rates. Ideal for petrochemical, hydraulic systems, and water treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about pleated filter selection, backwash systems, and our ordering process.

Need help selecting the right filter?

Our engineering team reviews your application details and helps you confirm the right configuration — before you place an order.

Talk to an engineer arrow_forward

What is the maximum pressure a pleated stainless steel filter can handle?

add

Maximum forward differential pressure is 250 psid (17 bar). Reverse differential pressure should not exceed 50 psid (3.4 bar). Exceeding these limits may cause media deformation or collapse.

What's the difference between DOE, 222, and 226 connections?

add

DOE (Double Open End): Flat gasket on both ends, most common and widely compatible. 222: Fin on the closed end, tab on the open end. 226: Threaded bayonet style, strongest mechanical seal. Connection must match your housing.

Can pleated stainless steel filters be cleaned and reused?

add

Yes. Backwash cleaning with compressed air or compatible liquid is recommended. Avoid harsh chemicals that damage seal materials. Inspect the media after each cleaning cycle.

How does a backwash filter differ from a standard pleated filter?

add

Backwash filters allow periodic reverse-flow cleaning without removing the element. Standard pleated filters require manual removal for cleaning. Backwash filters are ideal for continuous operation systems.

What is the filtration area of a 20-inch pleated filter?

add

Approximately 1.8 ft² (0.17 m²) per 10-inch length. A 20-inch cartridge provides roughly 3× the flow capacity of a 9.75-inch cartridge in the same housing.

What seal materials are available?

add

EPDM (-40°C to +135°C), NBR (-30°C to +120°C), Viton/FKM (-20°C to +200°C), Silicone (-60°C to +230°C). Match to actual operating temperature, not nominal range.

How do I choose between pleated and backwash filters?

add

Choose pleated filters for batch processes or intermittent flow. Choose backwash filters for continuous-flow systems, high-solids loading, or when shutdown for replacement is costly.

What micron rating for hydraulic system filtration?

add

5–10 μm for general pump/motor protection. 3–5 μm for sensitive servo valves. 10–25 μm for coarse pre-filtration. Consult your hydraulic component manufacturer's specifications.
