Stainless Steel Filter Elements
Cleanable Stainless Steel Cartridges for Liquid, Gas & Steam Filtration
Product Overview
SINFT pleated stainless steel filter cartridges are fully welded metal elements designed for liquid, gas, steam, oil and chemical filtration where disposable polymer cartridges are not durable enough. The pleated pack increases filtration area inside the same housing envelope, helping reduce pressure drop and extend service intervals.
Filter media can be configured with stainless steel woven wire mesh, sintered wire mesh or sintered metal fiber felt depending on the required retention, flow rate, dirt holding capacity and cleaning method. End caps, cores, guards and adapters can be matched to existing housings or supplied according to your drawing.
Pleating Process
Cartridge Construction
The filter medium is pleated between protective and support layers, then welded to stainless steel end caps and a central core. This construction improves mechanical strength, keeps the pleat pack stable under flow, and reduces the risk of bypass caused by adhesive bonding.

Flow Performance
Use these curves for preliminary sizing. Actual pressure drop changes with micron rating, viscosity, temperature, contaminant load, cartridge length and housing design.
Performance Testing
For stainless steel pleated cartridges, the risk is usually not just micron rating. Weld integrity, media support, surface cleanliness and repeatable flow performance all affect service life. SINFT checks critical dimensions, weld appearance and filtration performance before packing.
Filter Media Options
Best for surface filtration, defined apertures and applications where particles can be removed by backwashing or ultrasonic cleaning.
A porous depth media with high dirt holding capacity, low pressure drop and strong regeneration potential for demanding fluids.
Multi-layer metal mesh bonded into a stable porous structure for higher mechanical strength and stable pore geometry.
Advantages & Tradeoffs
Higher upfront cost, but better resistance to heat, aggressive chemicals and mechanical stress. The cartridge can often be cleaned and reused, reducing replacement waste.
Pleating increases effective filtration area, which can lower initial pressure drop and improve dirt holding capacity within the same housing size.
Pleated mesh or felt can provide higher open area and easier regeneration in many applications, while still keeping all-metal strength.
Application Coverage
Solvents, hydrocarbons, catalyst recovery and corrosive liquid filtration.
Hot polymer, film, fiber and bottle production requiring metal media.
Steam filtration, vent filters, compressed gas and high-temperature gas service.
Hydraulic stations, lubrication circuits, fuel and diesel filtration.
Process water, wastewater, cooling water and reusable pre-filtration.
Cleanable stainless steel filtration for beverage, edible oil and syrup lines.
APIs, aggressive fluids, steam-sterilized service and no-shedding media needs.
High-purity chemicals, coatings, resins and specialty process filtration.
Selection & Replacement Guide
If you are replacing an existing cartridge, the fastest route is to send the old element photo, key dimensions, end connection and working conditions. SINFT can match common end fittings or manufacture from drawings for non-standard housings.

Yes. Depending on the contaminant and media type, cartridges can be regenerated by backwashing, ultrasonic cleaning, chemical cleaning or steam sterilization. Cleaning limits should be matched to the seal material and working fluid.
Wire mesh is suitable for surface filtration and easy cleaning. Sintered metal fiber felt is better for depth filtration and high dirt holding capacity. Sintered wire mesh is preferred when mechanical strength and stable pore structure are priorities.
Please provide length, outer diameter, inner diameter, end connection, seal material, micron rating, flow direction and working conditions. Photos of the old cartridge or housing nameplate are very helpful.
Choose the rating according to the target contaminant size, required downstream protection and allowable pressure drop. For uncertain applications, share the particle size, fluid type, flow rate and current pressure drop so our team can recommend a safer starting point.
Yes. SINFT can manufacture standard and non-standard pleated cartridges according to drawings, old samples, part numbers or housing dimensions. Custom end caps, threaded adapters and flange connections are available.
