Sintered Filters — High-Porosity Series
SS316L Stainless Steel — High-Porosity Random Fiber Matrix
Product Overview
Sintered fiber felt filters use randomly oriented stainless steel fibers air-laid into a porous matrix and then sintered at high temperature compared to standard cylindrical filters, resulting in higher flow rates and longer service life. They are ideal for applications requiring precise filtration under harsh operating conditions such as high-temperature gas filtration and steam service.
The random fiber matrix creates a three-dimensional tortuous path that captures particles throughout the depth of the media — unlike surface filtration, this delivers superior dirt-holding capacity. All media and structure are constructed from SS316L stainless steel sintered at high temperature, achieving excellent mechanical integrity for demanding environments up to 600℃.

Product Advantages
Random fiber matrix provides 70–80% void volume — significantly higher porosity than woven mesh, enabling low pressure drop even at high flow rates through the gas or steam stream.
Higher void volume than mesh filters holds more contaminants before cleaning, reduces replacement frequency, and lowers overall operating costs.
Sintered fiber felt handles temperatures up to 600℃ in gas and steam applications, far exceeding standard mesh or pleated filters. Compatible with corrosive gases, steam, and high-temperature chemical vapors.
Depth filtration captures particles throughout the full thickness of the fiber matrix, not just on the surface — achieving 0.5–50 µm precision with exceptionally stable pore structure even after repeated thermal cycling.
All our stainless steel filters undergo bubble point testing to verify pore size consistency and filtration accuracy to remove free iron residues — ensuring corrosion resistance and preventing contamination. Each unit is verified with up to 200-point surface cleanliness test per kit before packaging.

Technical Support
Sintered mesh uses multiple layers of woven SS316L wire mesh diffusion-bonded together, creating a rigid structure with uniform pore size. Sintered fiber felt uses randomly oriented stainless steel fibers air-laid and then sintered, creating a higher-porosity matrix with larger dirt-holding capacity. Fiber felt is better for gas/steam filtration; mesh is better for high-pressure liquid filtration.
Standard filtration ratings range from 0.5 um to 50 um. The random fiber matrix provides high porosity throughout the filter depth, making it effective for fine particle removal in gas and steam applications.
SS316L sintered fiber felt is rated up to 600C, making it suitable for high-temperature gas filtration, steam service, and flue gas applications. Special alloys can extend this further for corrosive high-temperature environments.
Sintered fiber felt handles differential pressures up to 10 bar. It is optimized for gas and steam applications where pressure is moderate but temperature is high. For high-pressure applications, consider sintered mesh filters instead.
Yes. Sintered fiber felt is designed for repeated cleaning and reuse. Reverse flow cleaning with compressed air or compatible liquids is recommended. Thermal regeneration may also be applicable for high-temperature applications.
Every filter undergoes bubble point testing, dimensional inspection, and passivation treatment. Material certificates (MTR) and inspection reports are included. No minimum order quantity for prototype samples.
